The Parić family have been in tourism business since 1929. The first written proof of the „Parić shelter“ dates back to that year. The Parić shelter rendered the service of a doss-house to many mountaineers and visitors.
There almost hasn't been a mountaineer who visited The National Park Paklenica and did not feel the hospitality of Grgica nad Ante Parić , who had run the „Paklenica mountain hut“ for 40 years with much love and enthusiasm.
In 1970s at the beginning of the mass tourism in the area of Starigrad, Krsto Parić – Kiko ,the son of Grgica and Ante, started to improve his catering abilities by working in the famous restaurant „Buco“.
At the beginning of the 1980s Kiko and Vera opened their first resataurant „Dalmatinka“ in Seline. The restaurant became unavoidable place of all the tourists in that area.
In 1988 they opened the new restaurant in Starigrad which they named „Kiko“. The restaurant became one of the most important places in the tourist offer of the sub- Velebit region. At that time they started to build a new building situated on the coast and in the very center of Seline cove. The building was supposed to be both restaurant and a lodging place.
Finally, after the war, at the end of the 1990s, the „ Pension- Reataurant Kiko“ was opened and since then it has been trying to fulfill all the wishes of its guests. The guests come back every year to enjoy the hospitality of the personell, the beauties of the coast and the culinary masterpieces of the chefs. They always leave the place full of impressions, completely satisfied and with the wish of coming back soon.
